CONNECT WITH ME IN PHILADELPHIA:
This spring I’m facilitating a BUSINESS OF BEING AN ARTIST class for high school students in grades 10 – 12. From February through June, students are learning how to:
- Create and maintain an artist resume and artistic statement;
- Find the college (or other arts program) that’s the right fit for them;
- Network and present themselves in interview settings;
- Package and submit their work to colleges, national festivals and/or professional theatre companies;
- …and create a professional portfolio and/or professional website!
This summer I’ll be facilitating the SUMMER PLAYWRIGHTS COMMUNITY for grades 7-12 at Philadelphia Young Playwrights. Playwrights who are at any point in their writing process will be able to explore their works-in-progress through hands-on activities, while also receiving one-on-one mentorship. Enrollment is open, and interested playwrights can learn more here.
When I’m not working with my summer playwrights, I’ll be conducting college readiness workshops for fifty Bloomberg interns in collaboration with the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. I’ve created a really neat curriculum to help these students create a personal statement that they can use as a compass for goal setting, a method of identifying their skills sets, and more! I’m so excited to work with these young people.
Also, stay tuned in the coming weeks for an exciting announcement about an upcoming collaboration with the Bartol Foundation!
