CONNECT WITH ME IN PHILADELPHIA:
This spring, I’m excited to once again facilitate The Business of Being an Artist at Philadelphia Young Playwrights. Held weekly from January 23rd – February 20th, this class is for students in 9th – 12th grade who are interested in becoming a professional artist, touching on topics like writing artist statements, networking, resumes, cover letters, interviews, colleges, job hunting, and more. Registration ends January 16th, so apply now!
I’m also once again collaborating with the Bartol Foundation to facilitate a 20-hour training centered around trauma-informed practices for teaching artists. To learn more about trauma-informed teaching artistry, check out this interview that I did for Bartol’s blog. Registration for the spring program is closed, but check back over the summer for the application link for Fall 2019.
CONNECT WITH ME AT UPCOMING CONFERENCES:
On April 2-3rd, I will be attending and presenting at the Philadelphia Higher Education Network for Neighborhood Development (PHENND) Trauma + the Arts Conference. My session, I See, Hear, and Respect You: Teaching Artists Transform the Relationship Paradigm, will explore how the unique role teaching artists have with students can be leveraged to foster growth in relationships, social-emotional skill building, and more.
