Join me at the festival in March 2016 in Philadelphia!

I start this New Year proud to be serving as the Interim Executive Director of Philadelphia Young Playwrights, while we complete the search for our new Executive Director.  A lot of exciting programs for young people and productions for public audiences will happen during my tenure, including the Young Voices Monologue Festival, a collaboration between Philadelphia Young Playwrights and InterAct Theatre Company.  We are currently in the process of reading over 450 monologue submissions sent to us by high school students in the Greater Philadelphia Area.  Winners will be announced at the end of the month!

Students in grades 3 – 12 can connect with me through one of Philadelphia Young Playwrights summer programs during the month of July.  With Play-A-Day for beginners and Advanced Playwriting for more seasoned writers, there’s something for every student who wants to write for the stage.

For writers high school and above, I currently offer a 12-week private course which takes the student through the playwriting process from start to finish.  The course begins with playwriting fundamentals and idea-generating activities, and ends with a completed one-act play.  Students participate in a 2-hour virtual class once a week (date and time set based on our respective schedules), and receive additional feedback on their writing assignments during the week as completed.  All course materials are provided, and instruction is tailored to individual’s development as a writer.  Cost:  $360 – less than $30 a class!  To inquire, please contact me for details.
