CONNECT WITH ME IN PHILADELPHIA:
This summer I’m conducting college readiness workshops for fifty Bloomberg interns in collaboration with the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance. Alongside my Executive Director Lisa Nelson-Haynes at Philadelphia Young Playwrights, I’ve created a really neat curriculum to help students create a personal statement that they can use as a compass for goal setting, a method of identifying their skills sets, and more! It has been a blast and an honor to work with these fantastic young people.
I’m also collaborating with the Bartol Foundation on a handbook and five workshop series centered around trauma-informed facilitation practices for teaching artists. To learn more about trauma-informed teaching artistry, check out this interview that I did for Bartol’s blog. The pilot program will begin on September 29th for a limited group of twelve teaching artists – to learn more or apply, visit here.
CONNECT WITH ME AT UPCOMING CONFERENCES:
From August 6th – 8th, I will be attending the VSA Intersections Arts and Special Education conference in Atlanta, Georgia.
From September 13th – 15th, I will be attending and presenting at the 4th International Teaching Artist Conference in New York City. I’m presenting a session on Strategies for Trauma-Aware Lesson Planning on Saturday, and so excited to connect and learn from teaching artists all over the world.
